These open mics are quite fun, I get to play loud and experiment a lot. Some of it makes more sense with the actual visual performance going along. People randomly start clapping, foot stomping, playing instruments, hootin' & hollerin', and makes a great response between the performer(s) and the audience.

Battle of the Sympathetic Stereo

The children apply their armor of tin foil and load their suction cup cross bows; the rival leaders walk from their yards into the middle of the culdesac as their armies wait anxiously in the olive trees. When war calls the neighborhood vibrates, your father's stereo plays golden oldies and the smiles of warriors are constant as grass stained knees.[audio:http://documentofadaydream.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Battle-of-the-Sympathetic-Stereo.mp3|titles=Battle of the Sympathetic Stereo]

Lemon Bread, Yogurt, and Making Girls Laugh

[audio:http://documentofadaydream.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Lemon-Bread-Yogurt-and-Making-Girls-Laugh.mp3|titles=Lemon Bread, Yogurt and Making Girls Laugh] Today the show Inisght on Capital Public Radio interviewed me about this project. Before we went on the air they asked what I ate for breakfast. After the interview I was about to leave but was distracted by an upright piano in an office area full of cubicles.

Dawn of the Del Ray

Parents are the best, my dad is in town visiting and brought me two guitars he snagged at a garage sale for $6 a piece! The one in this recording is an old Teisco Del Ray...it needs a setup and new strings...decided to play something without doing anything to it first.[audio:http://documentofadaydream.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Dawn-of-the-Del-Ray.mp3|titles=Dawn of the Del Ray]

Coffee Garden Open Mic #1

When I first moved to Sacramento I was attending this open mic once a week. It's been a few months since I've been there. It always feels good to go play live because I get to play super loud unlike in a little apartment. Unfortunately I play loud enough to clip my microphone to unfixable recording quality, there was little salvageable. Next week I'll try to make it out there again and better place my microphone. It was great seeing everyone again and meeting some new faces. Thanks to Dave Finberg, the host, for playing along with some percussion.[audio:http://documentofadaydream.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Open-Mic-Day76.mp3|titles=Open Mic Day76]

73 Days Dub

Dub has always been one of my favorite styles of music. Finally got some equipment to do it manually. 8 tracks mixed down on the fly.[audio:http://documentofadaydream.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Day-73-Dub.mp3|titles=73 Days Dub]
